There will be 2 youth and 2 adult special needs basketball teams this year! The Temecula Youth Basketball League (TYBL) and the Murrieta Valley Youth Basketball (MVYB) will both have youth teams in the 2025-26 Winter Season, and children must be in grades K-12 to participate. There will also be an adult special needs basketball team in Murrieta.

If you are a member of Regional Center’s SDP Program, I appologize, but none of the teams accept payment from SDP.

Please note that due to scheduling constraints, you may register for only one of the youth teams. During registration, be sure to select either “Champions” for TYBL or “STARS” for MVYB. Registration is open for all 3 teams. To help you make an informed choice for your young athlete, here are some details about each team:

For all the basketball teams, we will try to have neuro-typical buddies for each player. However, it is possible that there will not be enough buddies for everyone. Accordingly, all parents must be willing to be a buddy for their child if their child requires a buddy to participate. We are hoping this wont be necessary, but just in case, you may be required to assist your child if that is required and we don’t have enough buddies.

Please be aware that each team has limited capacity, accommodating up to 25 players. All teams share a commitment to:

• Offering community-based training and team placement programs for young athletes with disabilities, led by dedicated youth basketball volunteers.
• Providing an inclusive platform for boys and girls with cognitive or physical disabilities to learn and enjoy basketball.
• Striving to integrate every young athlete with disabilities into our local Youth basketball family, ensuring they feel valued and successful.

We look forward to an exciting season of basketball, unity, and empowerment for all participants. Join us in making this a memorable experience for our neurodiverse friends and their families!
